What is Acker Night?
This is a FREE downtown event for everyone. The streets in downtown Prescott are closed and the businesses open their doors for a few hours for this wonderful evening event.
The Christmas lights are gleaming, and music fills the air for this special one night.
When you see a "Tips for Scholarships" bag in front of a performer, your donations go to our Yavapai County school age children for music lessons to those that may not otherwise get that chance. Depending on how much is donated year to year, we also donate to our local school district's music department, since the arts are the first to get budget cuts. We also with donations permitting, repair local school music department instruments, help send special musicians and groups on to bigger competitions and have purchased or given instruments for those in need.
We generally are able to grant over 50 lesson scholarships for the arts per year.
Acker Night is an evening that participating downtown businesses partner with local and national musical talent to bring you a fulfilled evening of music, food, and fun during the Christmas season all while donating to a worthy cause.
All donation "tips for scholarships" bags are located in each of the participating businesses in front of the performers for you to donate. Also look for the musician’s poster located on the door of each participating business.
This event is produced solely by local community volunteers and residents, including the musicians that believe this is a worthy cause for our local children keeping the arts alive in our town. 2023 will be our 35th year!
